【摘要】:1ThistechnicalspecificationisintendedtocovertheprotectionfromESDdamageofallelectronicdeviceswithvoltagesensitivityofnotlowerthan100Vthroughtheirentirelife.Thisisfromthecommencementofmanufacture,throughproductassembly,productuseandpossiblerepairuntiltheendoftheproductlife.Thistechnicalspecificationisintendedtocaterforelectroniccomponents,assembliesandsubassemblieswithasensitivityof100Vorgreater(humanbodymodel(HBM)),andassuchcoversmostitemsavailable.Thereareonthemarketafewitemswhichmaysufferdamageatlowerlevels.Wheretheseareused,additionaloralternativemethodsshouldbeused.ThesearenotcoveredbyeitherIEC61340-5-1orthisuserguide,asitwouldnotbereasonableoreconomictoequipthegeneralEPAtocaterforthese.Additionalinformationonthesemaybefoundinmanyofthereferencesinthebibliography.TheHBMhasbeenchosenasthemajorcriteria,asdamagefromhumancontactisstillthemostcommonsourceevenintoday'sautomatedsociety.ThereareseveralvaluesgivenindifferentsourcesforHBM,butthechosenoneis100pFand1500Ω.2LowhumidityAtlowrelativehumiditiesthedissipationofstaticchargesoftenbecomesmoredifficult,andsomematerialsmaynotworkefficiently.Aboveabout20%relativehumiditymostmaterialsmaintainmostoftheirefficiency.Whererelativehumiditymaygolowertheusershouldpayparticularattentionthatthematerialsselectedwillperformeffectivelyattheminimumexpectedrelativehumidity.Thisisofparticularimportanceinverycoldandnon-oceanicclimates.3CleanroomsForcleanrooms,thespecialistareasareconsideredtobeclass100ortighter.ManyofthetechniquesincurrentuseforESDprotectionwillnotsatisfythecleanroomconstraints,forexample,carbonbreakingdown,ionicsfromsprayorparticlesfromionizerneedles.Somealternativematerialsareavailable,withimprovedonesstillbeingdeveloped,thatwillcopewithbothconditionsandtheseshouldbeused.Thisareaisparticularlyimportantascleanoperationisanessentialpartofsemiconductormanufacture.Damageoccurringatthisstagemayresultinundetected"walkingwounded"deviceswhichcanhaveveryexpensiveresults.Thecleanroomapplicationiscurrentlythemostdifficulttocontrol,particularlyinclass10andclass1rooms.IEC61340-5-1embodiescurrenttechnology.Asnewandimprovedmaterialsandtechniquesbecomeavailablethisareawillbeimproved,withbenefitsinreliability.
